They were digging for water and washing their laundry in the bowls

It was 2015, we were on a Kilimanjaro training walk with some of the older kids from the international school, where I was teaching.

We came across this dry river bed and the guide paused to chat with the "dadas".

Most of the firewood in the area had been used up, so they were unable to boil or treat the water for their children.

It's an image that often springs to my mind.

12pm - 1.30pm September saw the official launch of the Sustainable Business Network, a joint venture between Zero Carbon Guildford and The University of Surrey. Join us as Lauren Wiseman, author of WWF's Sustainable Office Guide, helps us figure out how to navigate our sustainability journeys.

8pm-8.30pm

Curated, interactive monthly suppers with a theme or talk, 3 course set menu for ÂŁ35 inc tip, veggie option, pay for own drinks, tips hat for the hosts, it's fun and engaging, limited seats so book early to avoid disappointment!

10am-12pm. A great way to catch up with the local business community in Surrey. There’s no membership, no pre-booking required, just £8 payable on our APP in advance, or at the event

10am-12pm We will provide a willow base, and foliage to weave in. Please bring your own decorations, extra foliage if desired, and if you have secateurs these will also come in useful. Tea and coffee and a mince pie are included.
