Every Conversation Is An Experience

šŸ‘€Spotted thisšŸ‘‡

I dug a little deeper to find out Bessie A. Stanley wrote it, not Ralph Waldo Emerson, and then went down a rabbit hole to find out more about RWE. He seemed pretty interesting and random.

What does success mean to you?

āš”Every Conversation in an Experience | Seeing The Way with Ian Moncrieff MacMillanĀ šŸ‘€

A (random) conversation is a wonderful opportunity to connect with another human being.

To be curious and kind. To listen and learn. To hear and be heard.

A late friend of mine would often ask people "So...What's your story?"

Their journeys from there to here were always fascinating.

Many strong friendships were forged...by just being human and starting a conversation.

ā€˜Theranosticsā€™

(Therapy and diagnostics)

So spring has brought to light several new innovations I now see, to add to last weekā€™s innovation within Altzeimers Science publications.

Though new clinical trials are not yet published, there is some success in a new type of Radiotherapy related to brain tumours.

Particularly successful targeted on the brain stem.Ā

The ā€˜flashā€˜ blast is fired at the protons with less surrounding cell damage.

Clinical trials are not yet published.Ā

It has to be said, that these brain tumours are increasing in the last decade, as is cancer.Ā

Generally seen as a ā€˜proton beam therapyā€™ which has now undergone a ā€œflashā€ blast clinical trial, with less damage to surrounding areas of the tumour/ cancer.Ā

Approved in the USA in 2022: now it is said to be very successful on aggressive, prostate cancer, enabling a better lifestyle and management.Ā

Also a more discussed cancer these days.Ā

Prevention is always better than ā€™cureā€™ so be sure to investigate our mushroom Kingdom, where the Reishi mushroom is particularly well documented these days: for its anti- Cancer and cancer prevention qualities, boosting the immune system .Ā

āš”From Sarah at the Guildford Swift Project (also Toad Patroller, Events Coordinator at ZERO, Lookerer and Volunteer at Rosamund Community Garden +) šŸ¦

Sarah shared the following on her page from ā€œWildlife Aidā€:

Just a gentle reminderā€¦ we are now well into the bird breeding season.

Please, avoid any major garden works, including shrub, hedge and tree removal, until September. We know that with the improving weather, the temptation to get out and do some gardening is high, but it is often that impulse that results in the disruption of birdsā€™ nests, foxesā€™ dens and hedgehogsā€™ homes.Ā

Many of you will know how hard it is to raise kids, imagine the additional pressure of having to find food, every 15 minutes, in order to feed your brood of 10 hatchlings! It is an incredibly stressful and sensitive time for wildlife, and a nest disturbance only makes it harder.Ā

PLEASE, let wildlife raise their young in peace.

Iā€™ll add this here againā€¦

āš”The Asian Hornet Is Here! by Peter J Smith - Environmental Speaker, Writer and Random Dialoguist at Random Dialogues 24šŸ

It was breeding on the South Coast last year and we expect it to arrive in Guildford over the next few months. With no natural predators, an ability to increase exponentially and an insatiable appetite it poses an unprecedented threat not just to our honeybees but to all our insect pollinators - it's the worst possible news for our already stressed biodiversity.

On Thursday April 18th 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM at ZERO Guildford, Peter will share how the Asian Hornet came to be here, the danger it poses to people and wildlife, how to recognise one and what to do if you see one. Identification sheets will be made available and you will have the opportunity to see a (dead) Asian Hornet close-up.

What topic, issue, or subject ignites your child's passion and inspires them to take action?

In a recent Resilient Kids session I facilitated, we mind-mapped activities for the upcoming six-week program. The focus will be on developing real-world skills through engaging tasks:

-Boosting confidence through public speaking exercises.
-Enhancing research abilities for their individual passion projects.
-Watching inspiring and child-friendly talks to broaden perspectives.
-Creating presentations using Canva and practicing delivery techniques.
-Delivering a talk to a small, supportive audience, ie parents.
-Reflecting on progress, reviewing achievements, and setting new goals for future research, presentations, and talks.

Popular passion projects among the children include themes related to Minecraft!

Most of my sessions are via Zoom or in person at my home in Guildford.

Until next Friday at 6:08 am (ish).
