Follow Your Own Squiggles

Random Dialogues 17.11.23 6:08 am

Sometimes, we think the path to success (whatever that means) is a clear-cut, straight line, but reality often has a different plan. Would you agree that it's in the randomness and off the beaten track stuff that we learn, grow, and connect with our reslience and even passions. Each curve is a lesson and an opportunity to rethink, reflect and regroup. Walk your own squiggly line, and avoid comparing yourself to others.

⚡️“Mushrooms as Medicine and Nutrition Series, Part 3 - for How to Grow Younger” by Yvette Masure | Health is Wealth 🌱

So in last week’s Diablog, we saw a lovely photo in Guildford Farmers Market of several seasonal specialty mushrooms (as I call them!).

And I listed 5 main types with their health and healing properties. So interesting!

Fungi have been around for at least 1.5 billion years. They are completely interconnected to other life forms: as micro bacteria and biome, with all, yes all plants and trees. Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies, which sprout from a mycelium network of fungal threads.

So forests are so important.

The trees capture the sunlight. How? They use it like plants.

Chlorophyll captures the sunlight, as all life is dependent on this process.

Fungi grow in all the leaves, even pine leaves.

Trace minerals’ symbiotic relationship with nutrient essential exchanges, and fungi, are a central part of all this life.

Mushrooms contain sweet enzymes that recycle deadwood or ill plants and this recycling releases a carbon breakdown. These mushroom enzymes break down sugars,  so life that is there grows healthy in the forest and meadows.

So mushrooms are also great recyclers! ♻️ Even for toxic waste! (Especially Turkey Tail mushrooms).

Prevention is the best medicine.

Mushrooms can be and are,  a great part of that.

The plants are calling us!

Get the passion to learn with a beginner’s mind!

Slow down. And take a look. Sit with the mushrooms in a forest, and take a look, tune in.

🎣And a Bit More Finally

During the lockdown year, Jason and I started to have a play and created a Sunday Livestream called “Random Dialogues Unradio”. We shared a few rubbish jokes, shared a made up Haiku and annoyed our listener.

I’ve been keen to restart it, especially as I’ve now learned how to add these “podcasts” to Spotify and I’m still paying for the Streamyard streaming service. The main problem is Jason doesn’t have a decent mic. I purchased a Yeti Nano which I use for my 6 speakers, 6 minutes each speaking events, so I’m hoping he’ll sell one of his artworks soon and buy one asap! Our shows usually go out on a Sunday from 10.00 am to 10:08 am and I’ve made this landing page with more info. Perhaps you’d like to come and join us as a guest!

Until next Friday at 6:08 am (ish).

Thanks as always for your contributions.

Jane ❤️
