A Million Trees For Granny

Random Dialogues 10.5.24 6:08 am (ish)

Sarah messaged: “Jane, our first Swift arrived in the box at our house today, it will be our returning breeder. Last year the first one arrived on the 12th of May so this is a few days earlier this year. Last year our breeders mate arrived on May the  14th, it will be interesting to see when the mate arrives. We are desperately trying to sort out the camera to rig up to the screen for Facebook, but have lost the transformer 🙄 Sarah, Guildford Swift Project

Julie called: “I’ve finally found something to talk about at Random Dialogues Live!” Meanwhile, she’s sending over an autism test.

Valerie-Wood Geiger OBE, responded to this Facebook question:

Perhaps I should talk about ‘Plant a tree for Granny’- Could you plant a Tree for Granny? I had a little whinge on Facebook that I could not have a Big Party for my 80th. Jonas Chabroka Fadweck in Malawi said - We will have a planting day on your Birthday Granny!! I had a lightbulb moment and decided to ask people to Plant a Tree for Granny as my Birthday appeal – it went round the world! From Peru to Finland; Canada to Australia Now over 2 million trees have been planted.”

Dawatte Basdeo would love to speak too:

How about you?⬇️

How To Grow Younger, Medicine of the Future Series Part 27 by Yvette Masure | Health is Wealth 🌱

Being Mortal

I noticed this book at a friend’s house.

By Atul Gawande.

I jumped in.

It was compelling.

“…does anyone sit down with you and try to figure out what living a life really means to you, under the circumstances, (….of age-related physical or mental difficulties).. let alone help you make a home where that life becomes possible.

This is the consequence of a society that faces the final phase of the human life cycle by trying not to think about it.

We end up with institutions that address any number of societal goals-but never the goal that matters to the people involved …how to make life worth living when we are frail and can’t fend for ourselves anymore”

Mmm. To the point. No distractions.

Really, we all only have today ...yesterday has gone, tomorrow is a dream: so let’s find a smile.

The ultimate goal, after all, is not a good death, but a good life, all the way to the very end”

Keep that inner smile going.

And share it.
