Speaking Up & Following Purpose
A friend recently introduced me to someone who asked if I could support children in China with their public speaking and English skills. The teacher in me jumped at the chance and for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been Zooming in, helping children express themselves with more confidence.
We’ve chatted about everything from teddies and toys to the impact of climate change.
While this is a little different from the Random Dialogues: 6 Speakers. 6 Minutes Each livestreams I host every other month, it shares the same core aim: helping people to follow their interests and connect to their purpose.
Where It All Began
Random Dialogues was founded in 2017. On July 15th that year, Arthur (RIP) wrote:
“Random Dialogues is a soft network that gives participants a voice and an opportunity to connect and collaborate with others around their passions. It provides support that responds to the needs of its community.”
Programmes are built around four core principles:
Play
Possibilities
Purpose
Peace
Workshops and events focus on things like confidence, public speaking, and creativity. “How I…” sessions invite people to share how they do things, in their own words, in their own way.
Random Dialogues began because we met brilliant people, especially entrepreneurs, who could tell us their job title, but not always what they really did for others.
That got us thinking...
What’s Your Elevator Speech?
Self-development teacher and former chiropractor John DeMartini once said:
“I align the minds and spines with the Divine.”
That was his elevator speech. What’s yours?
In my opinion, intrigue is everything. If your words spark curiosity, you invite connection.
I used to call myself a #frustrationexpert, it raised smiles, started conversations, and delivered on what it promised.
AyPee playfully called himself “socialtart”. It worked! It got people talking about social media, coaching and mentoring, and was a pattern interruptor!
Speaking up for yourself is key to putting yourself out there.
So... What’s a topic or idea you care deeply about? Something you’d love to share with others?
✨ I'd love to hear it. Join the waiting list here
