At Random Dialogues 28, Pam Williams spoke about Learning’s Second Act: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures. If you revisit the recording, her segment begins at 35:20 here

Pam and I recently enjoyed one of our weekly-ish catch-ups. We read poetry from a book, which I’d happened to spot on a bookshelf while delivering a “Heat Plus” pop-up in my new Community Engagement Officer role with Surrey Climate Commission.

We explored Pam’s website and I gave her a gentle nudge to begin sharing more of her thinking through blogs and a newsletter. I’ll share one in the next update. No pressure, Pam.

We also took a peek at Yvette Masure’s website for inspiration, especially her beautiful little ebook drawn from her past Random Dialogue newsletter musings: Medicine of the Future: How To Grow Younger.

I had been feeling a little stuck about what to write for my newsletters and which direction to take.

I remembered Carl Jung’s idea of the “wounded healer” that in any meaningful exchange, the analyst and the patient are often healing one another.

That feels very Random Dialogues.

We gather to speak, but we also gather to listen. We show up to share our expertise, yet often leave with something we didn’t know we needed.

Here’s to more Random Dialogues.

More diablogs (please sent them over)

More talks (please show up)

More unexpected healing in the virtual room.

Thank you for being part of it.
