⚡Wise Words | Seeing The Way with Ian Moncrieff MacMillan 👀

"You know, I once heard very wise words.
Your hard work is the dream of every unemployed person;
Your restless child is the dream of everyone without children;
Your small home is the dream of every homeless person;
Your little capital is the dream of every debtor;
Your poor health is the dream of every patient with an incurable disease;
Your peace, your peaceful sleep, your accessible food is the dream of everyone in a country at war.
You must appreciate everything you have. After all, no one knows what tomorrow will bring." - Jackie Chan

Sound Healing with Tuning Forks

The "ocean of emotion," as I call it - my topic last week - is found in the skull, specifically in the hollow of the amygdala.

It holds the cerebrospinal fluid, which we use for frequency transmission of the vibrations from specific tuning forks. This week, I will delve further into sound healing with tuning forks.

Perhaps you’re listening to music as you read this, or maybe you can hear birds, the whirl of a fan on this hot day, or just the sound of traffic.

There are so many sounds around us if you listen. 🙏

Our ability to hear is both precise and intricate. The eardrum vibrates, and the sound waves travel through the ossicles to the cochlea, causing the fluid in the cochlea to move like ocean waves.

Tiny hair cells send messages to the auditory nerve, which in turn sends messages to the brain. The auditory cortex, located in the temporal lobe of the brain behind your ears, holds the seat of memory and perception.

In fact, different tempos, sounds, languages, and particularly sound levels, affect not only your mental activities but also your physical reactions and emotions.

As noted on ECG machines measuring brain activity, alpha waves at 60 bpm are synchronised with this. Researchers at Stanford University in California found that the slower beat can synchronise with delta waves, helping with relaxation and sleep.

The auditory nerve can signal our ears to dampen outside noise and focus on what we want to hear. So, if someone is focused on a piece of art or reading a book, they can easily be startled—they literally did not hear you coming.

Our brain's chemicals reset in response to frequency, vibration, and tone as well. These chemical triggers can dramatically alter mood, perception, and even address emotional and neurological ailments.

To be continued next week. 💚🌱
